Meet Dr. Kristy

A photo of Dr. Kristy.

Since Dr. Stanislav’s retirement in 2022, Dr. Kristy has been managing the practice at full speed! She is a Clarksville native. She and her husband Grant Doughman enjoy spending time with their four kids, Samuel, Finley, Luke and McClaine. They also have two cats named Charlie Belle and LuLu, a dog named Boots and a gecko named Fancy.

Dr. Kristy graduated from the University of Tennessee dental college in 2012. She received her BS in Chemistry and Biology from Middle Tennessee State University in 2008. Dr. Kristy minored in Spanish there and is still fluent in the language. Throughout her academic career she was been involved in numerous organizations and committees and has been recognized for doing so. In dental school, Dr. Kristy received the Senior Student Dental Award from the Academy of General Dentistry for outstanding accomplishments in comprehensive dental care. She was also in the Senior Honors Program and accepted an award for Excellence in Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, she served as class representative to the American Student Dental Association all four years of dental school. If asked, however, she will tell you her favorite recognition from dental school was being selected among her classmates to assist in a root canal for a Malayan Sun Bear at the Little Rock Zoo in Arkansas!

Dr. Kristy enjoyed working with her father full-time for almost 10 years. Prior to that, she gained extensive knowledge working as a public health dentist. She feels that both the experience of mentoring under her father and her work as a public health dentist have allowed her to become the well-rounded dentist she is today. She believes honesty is one of the most important traits you can have as a dentist and always strives to treat every patient as she would her own family. She knows each smile has an individual person attached to it and works with each patient to find treatment that meets their specific needs.

Dr. Kristy is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, the 8th District Dental Society, where she is an officer, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is dedicated to her profession and regularly attends continuing education courses. She is also involved in our community and volunteers often for various local organizations, including those that promote oral health. She attends Grace Community Church where she has served as a large group worship leader for children in the kid’s ministry and led women’s discipleship groups.

Dr. Kristy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is a social person who loves meeting new people. Her favorite activity is playing with her kids, especially when they hang out at the creek and catch fish. Her other hobbies include reading, bible study, camping, bird watching, traveling, trying new food with her husband, canoeing, kayaking, swimming or anything else in the water!
